1. By train.

Traveling by train within 10 hours might be the only real option to head for Sapa–a highland town 380 kilometers northwest of Hanoi — even though it would not be the most relaxing start to a vacation.

For those who prefer to a slow enough speed to capture stunning photos of two sides of railroad, daylight trains might be in their list whereas several alternative hassle-free options in complete comfort are available such as Victoria Express–starting at a USD85. However, only one who books at the Victoria Sapa Hotel feels free to buy Victoria Express’s tickets.

Starting early and preparing well before taking this much challenging journey is the must-remember tips.
